
Announcing the declaration of the strike at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, July 13, National Chairman of the SSA UOG, Isaac Donkor alleged that the CEO of the FWSC threatened to block their salaries if they go on strike.
The affiliation has been requesting that the public authority applies reasonableness in the installment of remittances to public specialists in Ghana.
“The CEO of FWSC Ing Ben Arthur has taken steps to keep all pay rates of ranking staff assuming we set out protesting. We accept that his stance was scary and furthermore an attack against the position he possesses as a public official who teaches value yet rehearses none. We are trying him on his case.
“His activity has even set off our purpose for the strike activity. We actually keep up with our place that the public authority has been unjustifiable to the ranking staff in state-funded colleges in Ghana.
“In our candid opinion, the payment of allowance to selected few within the senior staff associations in public universities and our compatriots in other unions is unscientific and discriminatory . we therefore ask government to act fairly towards senior staff in public universities.,” he said.
