Manchester United have agreed to pay Barcelona a guaranteed fee of €75 million (£63 million, $75 million) for Frenkie de Jong, according to The Athletic.
United are also expected to pay €10 million in add-ons (£8.47 million, $10 million).
The 25-year-old Jong is also owed a €17 million deferred salary payment from Barcelona, which is still impeding the deal.
De Jong joined Barcelona from Ajax in 2019 for £86 million, and he has since made nearly 100 league appearances for the Catalan club.
However, Barcelona’s financial situation meant De Jong’s future was in jeopardy, with £1 billion in debt and strict controls on recruitment and spending.
De Jong was a shining star in Ten Hag’s Ajax side that reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2018-19.
