The former Inter and AC Milan attacker believes he could have been celebrated like former teammate Sergio Aguero had he stayed

The Adana Demirspor attacker Balotelli has rediscovered his form in Turkey earning him a return to the Italy national team Mario Balotelli believes if he had stayed at Manchester City for a couple of seasons more he would have reached the legendary status of Sergio Aguero.

The Italian forward left Manchester City in 2013 after just three seasons in his first stint in the English Premier League. In an interview with The Athletic, the 31-year-old stated emphatically that the biggest mistake of his career was leaving Manchester City.

“I think that was my biggest mistake, to leave City,” he said. “Even the year I left, I played very well in Milan for a year and a half, but after that I had some problems. And now that I’m older, I know I wouldn’t have shouldn’t have left City at this time,” he added.

Mario Balotelli set up Aguero for the goal that won City’s first league title in 43 years on the famous 2011 Premier League final day.
