EA Sports Rebrands To EA Sports FC After Ending Partnership With Fifa

Published:

EA Sports has revealed a new logo for their football franchise, which will now be called EA Sports FC following the end of their 30-year partnership with FIFA.

The new emblem takes inspiration from triangles, a shape synonymous with football tactics and culture. The triangular mark also incorporates elements from past FIFA games, such as the tri-cornered player indicator symbol.

The new logo will be debuted during over 100 matches played across various leagues around the world.

“Through our long-standing partnership with EA SPORTS, we are able to bring fans around the world closer to the Premier League and we recognise the importance of the next generation in growing the future of football,” said Richard Masters, the Premier League’s chief executive.

“The NWSL’s 2022 partnership agreement with EA SPORTS was not only a monumental moment for women’s soccer, but also a long-term vision and investment,” added Jessica Berman, commissioner for the NWSL. “The next chapter of the World’s Game is reliant on recognition of the amazing talent and impact that leagues like the NWSL offer to every type of football fan, and EA SPORTS FC will do just that and more.”

FIFA is reportedly working on their own football game after ending their 30-year partnership with EA Sports. EA Sports’ FIFA franchise, which had been using the FIFA name since its first iteration in 1993, will now be known as EA Sports FC due to the split. FIFA had claimed to be working with other developers to produce a rival title. FIFA is recognized as the best-selling sports video game franchise in history, with over 325 million copies sold worldwide as of 2021.
